"Creating Your Ultimate Bucket List: A Guide for Cancer Patients"

Have you ever wondered what you'd do if you were diagnosed with terminal cancer? Would you consider making a bucket list? And if so, what would be on it?

Recently, I came across a fascinating article discussing how cancer patients can create their bucket lists. It got me thinking—what would I include on mine?

Here are five options the article suggested:

  1. Get the Adrenaline Pumping: Whether it's skydiving, riding in a hot air balloon, or learning to jet ski, these activities are all about pushing boundaries and embracing life to the fullest.

  2. Fully Experience Nature: From bird watching to kayaking on serene lakes, connecting with nature can be incredibly therapeutic and fulfilling.

  3. Deepen Your Relationships: Reconnecting with old friends, spending quality time with loved ones, or even becoming a mentor can enrich your life and create lasting memories.

  4. Dedicate More to Having Fun: Attending concerts, learning new sports like tennis or golf, or taking up a fun hobby through classes or workshops can add joy and excitement to your days.

  5. Get in Touch with Your Creative Side: Whether it's picking up a musical instrument, engaging in scrapbooking with family, or recording your life stories for posterity, expressing your creativity can be deeply fulfilling.

But here's the thing—while all these ideas sound amazing, the reality is that life doesn't pause for illness. We still have responsibilities, and everything comes with a price tag. Personally, I dream of spending time with family, traveling, visiting Disneyland, and simply relaxing. But when is the right time to start? Should we continue working while we wait?

The hardest part of dealing with any terminal illness is the uncertainty—the waiting, the decision-making on a timeline that doesn't adhere to real-time. It's frustrating, to say the least.

So, I pose the question to you: What would you do if faced with a terminal diagnosis? It's a sobering thought, but perhaps contemplating our bucket lists can offer some clarity and direction amidst the uncertainty.
