Navigating the Journey: Reflections on Treatment and Optimism

Writer's picture: johnvsgbmjohnvsgbm

Around eleven weeks ago, right after Thanksgiving, my journey began. Following my craniotomy and tumor resection, time seemed to blur as I focused on healing. Then came what Oncologists’ term as "treatment" – a blend of chemotherapy and radiation, organized into two 21-day cycles. My initial cycle commenced on January 9, followed by the second on January 30. As I approach the conclusion of my radiation sessions this week, I cannot help but feel an overwhelming sense of relief and gratitude. It has been an incredibly arduous journey, one that is only just started, yet my optimism remains steadfast. Emotionally, it has been a rollercoaster – some days filled with joy, others clouded by sadness, which I seem to not be able to stop the tears. I wonder if this fluctuation will ever stop. Nevertheless, I draw strength from within, convinced that I can weather whatever lies ahead.
