Turkeys, Lions, and Cocoa, ohhhh my

I have finished with my Radiation and First set of Chemotherapy. Before starting my second Chemotherapy set, I wanted to incorporate some valuable supplements. I found three I will begin to incorporate in the morning with my “Brainy Shake” (Carrot Juice, Ginger Juice, Orange, and Apple, blended with frozen berries and Vega Protein). I have started to incorporate Turkey Tail Supplement, Mycobrew Coffee (Lions Mane), and 100% Cacao. I read many articles over the last few months. I started reading about Turkey Tail even in the hospital post-craniotomy.

Turkey Tail: Turkey Tail (Trametes Versicolor) Several studies have been conducted on this mushroom. Not all have supported its benefits for treating Glioblastoma, but several studies have shown its effectiveness in treating cancer types. Turkey Tail has a higher concentration of PSK (Polysaccharide-K) compound. “Polysaccharide-K (PSK, from the mushroom T. versicolor, is an approved mushroom product used for cancer treatment in Japan.” (National Cancer Institute, Mushrooms (PDQ®)) After this research and reading a few stories of individuals who have used Turkey Tails, I decided to try it. I did find this brand to be reputable. LINK TO BUY

Mycobrew Coffee: Everyone needs a little pick me up in the morning, and if that pick me up has health benefits, then all the better. Lions Mane, which is infused this Coffee, is also a mushroom. Several studies have shown the benefits of improved cognition. One article published in Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation discusses the findings of such trials. In Popular Science, they described Lions Mane as “pre-clinical testing found the lion’s mane mushroom had a significant impact on the growth of brain cells and improving memory.” (Baisas, 2023) This was enough for me, and since I cannot drink coffee as it creates too many gastric issues for me, I felt this was a great alternative. 100% Cacao: Who does not love chocolate? It can fight cancer. According to Oncology Nursing News, “Cocoa and its main polyphenols have been reported to interfere at the initiation, promotion, and progression of cancer.” (Harris, Chocolate: To eat or not to eat? 2021) This article references many studies that explain the benefits of chocolate and its effects on fighting cancer. Please check them out. I have added 100% Cacao to my morning Shakes. LINK TO BUY
